Bruce joined Global Switch as Group Director, Finance in 2023 with over 20 years’ multi sector experience focused on leading and delivering change and transformation for global companies and private equity backed businesses, built upon a deep core FP&A background.
Having originally qualified as an Architect in South Africa, Bruce qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales through BDO and went on to build the foundations of his finance career leading FP&A, Central Finance and Investor Relations teams for a number of UK-headquartered international companies.
Leveraging his cumulative experience, he shifted focus to work with companies undergoing significant change, notably private equity backed business. He led Worldpay’s Group FP&A function while working on the sell-side financials ahead of Worldpay’s successful IPO. He then joined Towergate Insurance as part of a turnaround team tasked with stabilising the business and restructuring its finances, facilitating a successful part-sale to an enlarged shareholder group. Bruce led the finance integration of Reckitt plc’s $17bn Mead Johnson acquisition and subsequently led the redesign of the Group’s global reporting structure and profitability measures. Prior to joining Global Switch he was responsible for all Group Finance functions at the RAC and helped deliver consistent double-digit growth in a flat market that led to the successful part-sale to an enlarged shareholder group.
Bruce is a member of the Senior Management team and is responsible for leading the Group’s central FP&A, Group Financial Control and Systems teams as well as all regional site Finance teams across Europe and Asia-Pacific. Together, these teams are responsible for all internal management reporting, external statutory reporting, shareholder support, performance analysis that provides in-depth analysis of strategic multi-year options, robust financial controls and business partnering with our Operations, Commercial and Delivery colleagues.
